Slabs of rubber requires heating to 170ºC and is then poured over the
plug, setting as it cools. A double skin pan or similar principle is
needed to avoid overheating when melting. Air bubbles will appear on the
rubber surface if moisture is in the plug, prior sealing with polyurethane
varnish is recommended.
Moulds no longer required can be cut up, melted and re-used again. Price (click)
This blend of high quality silicone has been specially developed to
enable the home user to make moulds of a very high quality.
Two catalysts both 2% addition, Medium Yellow and fast Red allow optimum control of the process
time of the catalysed mixture.
Suitable for various materials including Polyester resin, wax, polyurethane, and plaster type
casting.
Also
available is a Thixotropic additive added at a rate of 2% to rubber to attain
a Butter-on consistency, ideal in cases where the plug is fixed (ceilings,
church walls etc)
